This document provides information to Carthage users who access electronic resources from off-campus.

Your Carthage username and password is the login that gets you into the my.carthage portal, to library resources off-campus, and to the campus printing system.

Carthage E-mail

Because Carthage’s Google Apps e-mail system is web-based, it is accessed in exactly the same way from on- or off-campus. Access the Carthage e-mail system through your web browser either by:

Library Research Databases

You may access the library's research databases from off-campus. When you attempt to search using a database, the system will prompt you to enter your username and password. Entering your Carthage credentials will authenticate you with the system and should allow you access to almost all of the Hedberg Library databases from off-campus.

Library Catalog

You can search our catalog to find out what books, CDs, DVDs, and other physical items are available for check-out. Accessing the Carthage library online catalog from off-campus is identical to accessing it from on-campus. Bring up the Carthage web site at and select the link for “LIBRARY” in the "TOOLS" drop-down menu on the upper right of the Carthage website. You may also go directly to The catalog search box will be on the library's homepage.
