  1. Click “Settings.”
  2. Click “Wireless and Networks.”
  3. Click “Wi-Fi Settings.”
  4. Verify Wi-Fi is turned on. Under “Detected Networks”click “Carthage-Open.” You may get a warning stating that you are about to connect to an unsecure network, click “Yes” if you wish to proceed.
  5. The next time you open a browser you should be greeted by the Captive Portal.  If you have Carthage network credentials, choose “Carthage Credentials” under authentication and enter your username and password. If you do not have network credentials, please skip to Step 7.
  6. Read the terms of use and check the box indicating you have read and accept the terms. Click “Login.” A progress bar should appear and in a few seconds you should have Internet!
  7. If you DO NOT have Carthage network credentials and you have not been given a guest account to use, simply scroll to the bottom and choose “Sign up.”
  8. Enter all of the information requested.
  9. You must now choose how to register for access to the network. You can choose to register through a sponsor, by Email, or by SMS.
  10. If you chose to register through a sponsor, that person will receive an e-mail and must OK your network access (not many people will actually use this method). If you choose to register by Email, you will be given a 5 minute window of Internet access to check your Email. Inside your Email will be a link, you must click this link within 5 minutes to stay active on the network. If you choose to register by SMS, you will receive a pin code to your mobile phone which you must enter. All guest access is only for 24 hours; after 24 hours, you will need to re-register.
